Hey everyone! Happy Friday to you. It is our third Link Up and I hope you will join us. 🙂 First off, I want to show you what we have been up to this week. We built a Pinterest Inspired Plank Wall in our bathroom. These are all over Pinterest right now and I had the perfect place in mind to try it out.Mr. Robin’s Nest was on board and so we set off to Home Depot. We decided our Valentine’s Day gift for each other would be this nailer and all the materials for the project.
Before we went shopping, we took exact measurements of the space so that we knew exactly how many boards to buy. We chose the width of the lumber based on the space we were filling. We tried to be as careful as we could picking out the boards at Home Depot to get them as straight as possible. We mulled over a few design options and decided to go with a pattern of white, dark, dark. The staining/painting was quick and easy. The longest part was waiting for the gel stain to dry overnight.
On the white boards we started with a stain called “Parchment” and once it was dry layered over some Annie Sloan Old White and then distressed a little with a cloth. Here is a picture of the project wall in our bathroom.
Here is the finished project.
We are really happy with how it turned out. It was quite easy. The hardest part was measuring really carefully and testing the boards to make sure they would fit correctly. The total cost of the lumber and stain was $84.86. We also bought the nailer but it will come in handy for a lot of other projects.
